The most important thing that you can get out of this community is Learning. You can also get to meet like-minded people, immerse yourself in doing high-quality research and publishing, applying for patents with our help, and also getting referred to top research companies.

It helps, but is not required when you're starting out. You can also learn the requisite math on the fly. It also depends on the research project that you're involved in, For example, NLP research is less math intensive than projects on Optimization algorithms that require a great deal of math. We also have a #math-for-ml slack channel, where you can ask doubts, and find a person to discuss all things math for DL.
